7 ways to celebrate Pride Month 2022 in Bangkok

The month of June is recognized as Pride Month across the world, where people from the LGBTQ+ community come together to celebrate their freedom. In June 1969, the gay community in New York, USA, fought against police oppression and inspired former President Bill Clinton to declare June as “Gay & Lesbian Pride Month”. However, In 2021 President Joe Biden announced the month of June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month to incorporate more sexual orientations.

Speaking at a recent Pride Month event, newly elected Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt announced that Pride Month would be one of the 12 monthly festivals in Bangkok. As a result, Thailand’s capital city is celebrating Pride Month 2022 in full swing.
