The Land of Smiles joins the growing number of Asian destinations dropping their COVID-related travel restrictions<\/a> starting from the 1st of October. This news comes as Asia buckles up to reopen itself to the world. For instance, Hong Kong recently ended its mandatory hotel quarantine, and Japan announced that tourists can visit the country with a visa and will no longer go through a travel agency from the 11th of October.<\/p>\n

Thailand is fully open<\/h2>\n

The TAT recently announced that international travelers to Thailand would no longer need to show proof of vaccination or ATK test results for entering the country. The TAT also declared that an extended stay would be an option for international travelers. As a result, tourists can now enjoy an extended stay of 45 days (from 30 days) on their travel visa.<\/p>\n

Quarantine free Thailand<\/h2>\n

The country carefully planned a gradual reopening to international tourism from the 1st of July 2021, with programs such as the Phuket Sandbox, Samui Plus, and 7+7 Extension programs followed by the Thailand Pass registration scheme. Now, the kingdom has fully reopened, with several international events and local festivals coming up. This move is part of Thailand’s commitment to treating COVID-19 as a flu. Note that the country is also one of the first in the region to publicize such an approach.<\/p>\n

The Land of Smiles is also dropping its approach to isolation, with those who contract the virus with mild symptoms no longer asked to self-isolate. Travelers will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or test results when visiting crowded venues.<\/p>\n
