Since the early days of the pandemic, when all positive COVID-19 cases had to be admitted to a hospital or hospitel, Thailand has come a long way in embracing the \u2018new normal\u2019 and learning to live with the virus. Today, <\/span>face masks are voluntary<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>the borders are open<\/span><\/a>, and<\/span> those with COVID-19 can also access remote treatment<\/span><\/a> via one of three telemedicine apps. In this <\/span>Pacific Prime Thailand<\/span><\/a> article, we\u2019ll tell you more about how the system works.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Good Doctor, Mordee and Clicknic apps<\/span><\/h2>\n

COVID-19 patients in Thailand can use the Good Doctor, Mordee, and Clicknic apps for remote treatment. Initially, these apps were made available to patients with universal health coverage, as well as local authorities and government officials who are entitled to welfare benefits. It was later expanded to those insured under the Social Security Fund (SSF), and the NHSO has been working with the Social Security Office (SSO) to reimburse patients. According to the NHSO,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMore than 5,300 patients have registered for these apps since July 11th, 2022.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Patients in the \u2018green group\u2019 and elderly patients with underlying conditions have been using these apps\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

When Thailand didn\u2019t have enough beds for all positive COVID-19 cases, the country began <\/span>segmenting patients based on their symptoms<\/span><\/a>: green for mild, yellow for moderate, and red for severe. As the country has recently launched telemedicine apps for COVID-19, only patients in the green group and elderly patients with underlying medical conditions have been receiving telemedicine services over the past month.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Registering for the apps if you test positive for COVID-19<\/span><\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re eligible for the telemedicine service, you can register for the telemedicine apps as soon as you test positive for COVID-19. You\u2019ll then be able to speak to a medical professional, receive prescriptions for medicines*, and get follow-up treatment without any charge. Depending on where you live in the country and the category of patients you\u2019re in, you\u2019ll be able to register for different apps, as per the following:<\/span><\/p>\n
